JSON to CSV
Convert JSON arrays to CSV format
JSON to CSV converts a JSON array of objects into CSV, building its header row from the union of every key found across all objects — so even if some rows are missing a field others have, every column still gets created.
How to use JSON to CSV
- 1
Paste your JSON array of objects.
- 2
Click "Convert" to generate CSV.
- 3
Review the CSV output with headers from every key.
- 4
Copy or download the CSV result.
Everything you need to know about converting JSON to CSV
What does this do?
Converts a JSON array of objects into CSV rows and columns, using each object's fields as column headers — the format spreadsheets, and most non-technical stakeholders, actually expect to work with.
When you actually need this
- Exporting API data to a spreadsheet for someone who doesn't work directly with JSON.
- Preparing data for import into a tool that only accepts CSV.
A note on nested data
CSV is fundamentally flat (rows and columns) — deeply nested JSON objects or arrays within a field don't have a clean CSV equivalent, so conversion works best on relatively flat JSON structures.

Frequently Asked Questions
What format does my JSON need to be in?
A non-empty array of plain objects, like [{"name": "Alice", "age": 30}, ...] — an array of primitives, a single object, or an empty array will all be rejected with a clear error.
What happens if some objects are missing a field that others have?
The missing field just shows up blank in that row's cell — the header row is built from every key found across all objects, not just the first one.
Does the column order matter in my source JSON?
No — columns are built from the union of all keys found, in the order they're first encountered across the array, not based on any particular object's key order alone.
Does this tool send my JSON to a server?
Yes — it's sent to our servers to convert and the result is returned to you; nothing is stored.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes — completely free, with no signup and no usage limits for casual use.
