Convert Markdown to HTML, PDF or plain text
Markdown Converter turns Markdown into HTML, covering the most common syntax — headers, bold and italic, inline code, links, and lists — with every link href checked against a safe-scheme allowlist so malicious link targets can't inject unexpected HTML attributes.

Everything you need to know about converting Markdown
What does this do?
Converts Markdown into HTML, PDF, or plain text — Markdown is great for writing, but the platform you're publishing to often needs one of these other formats instead.
When you actually need this
- Publishing Markdown-authored content somewhere that requires HTML.
- Producing a shareable PDF from documentation written in Markdown.
- Stripping formatting entirely down to plain text for a context that can't render Markdown.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this support the full Markdown / CommonMark spec?
No — it covers the common subset: headers, bold/italic, inline code, links, and lists. Advanced features like tables, footnotes, or nested blockquotes aren't supported.
Is the output HTML safe to insert into a page?
Yes — text content is HTML-escaped and link targets are checked against an allowlist of safe URL schemes (http, https, mailto, tel, and relative paths), so a malicious link value can't break out of the href attribute or inject a dangerous scheme.
What happens to a link with an unsafe target?
Its href is replaced with # rather than being dropped or passed through, so the link still renders safely but doesn't point anywhere unexpected.
Does this tool send my Markdown to a server?
Yes — it's sent to our servers to convert and the result is returned to you; nothing is stored.
Is this tool free to use?
Yes — completely free, with no signup and no usage limits for casual use.
