How is the months-and-days part calculated?
By counting whole years first, then whole months within the current year, then the remaining days — borrowing a month's worth of days from the previous calendar month when the day-of-month hasn't been reached yet, so the result matches how you'd count age by hand.
Does it account for leap years?
Yes — the calculation uses real calendar dates throughout, so February 29th and variable month lengths are handled automatically rather than assumed to be a fixed number of days.
Can I calculate the age on a future or past date, not just today?
Yes — set the "as of" date to any date after the birth date, useful for working out how old someone was (or will be) on a specific event date.
Does this tool send my dates to a server?
